"You’re still alive, so act like it"

If you watch anything today let it be this... I get it. As the year is coming to an end and I am at a point where I feel so tired that I don't know if I'm coming or going. As I look back at the year that was with both excitement and a tall glass of WTF? and a side shot of "why me?". This made me stop and think, it made me see that it could have been worse and I should celebrate that I made it this far with all that I have and all my achievements. I travelled for the first time out of South Africa twice not once, this year and it was awesome. I made it threw a lot and I am still standing. Still fluffing my fro and sipping chai tea.

This smacked me in the face on some " b*tch please". I get it.

Hes name is Rudy Francisco.... and he writes amazingly well

Market story

So the V&A Waterfront is a place I frequent to of late. The reason for this out of character migration to the "front" is the  V&A Market on the Wharf. It's situated where the Musica store used to be and I like really like what they did to the place. It has this industrial feel and a really chilled and cool vibe about it.

The food stalls are pretty cool and it caters for every taste bud really. From the arty type foods to the simple "I'm so hungry I could eat anything " stomachs. It even has food for those who just want to experiment with different thing ( they also have a stall that sells tea with bubbles) I'm still scared to try it hey, I don't know if I'm the #thuglife.

The first time I went I even got so excited that I pimped some biscuits with a friend of mine. We were like the biggest participants ever but it was all good in the  hood with us hey. The aim of the exercise was to have fun.
I think I'm am becoming a market person hey... It's time to explore markets around CT. :) I love

And I'm in love with being queen"

From Greyton with Love - #traveldiaries

So I recently visited a little town outside Cape Town called Greyton and just fell madly in love with it. Its a beautiful little town with so much character and just a gem really.

It was a well worth it hour and half drive outside Cape Town and a weekend well spent. We did some hiking and got a lesson on plants and the healing they can give us form our totally cool guide. I also in the middle of all the work we managed to take a walk around and took some pictures.

I so want to come back again to this sleeping beauty. This time with the friends and just to chill. Will be so well worth it hey. Or even just to experience lunch at Abbey Rose restaurant and The Hungry Monk ;) *hint hint*

Thank you Greyton..

With love from Kenya

I recently visited Kenya ( 12 days to be precise) ,it was a work thing but it was enough to make me wanna go back and check the place out. So now the plan is to go back on a personal trip to really get to know the place. I was told stories of many cool places their and I will for sure go back . I did a little shopping while on the visit and I totally fell in love with the bright colours and all that I found.

I couldn't resist the top so, I just had to buy it. I had been looking for it but, it was a bit expensive buying it here in SA so when I saw it for a nice price I had to jump on it. It's a bit big thou but I'm making it work. I just love the colours and just think they are exotic and totally work. It has a swag about it, some African Fresh Cool Kid vibe to it ( not that I am saying I am one).

The above pictures I took around guest house we were staying. Limuru is an interesting place. I wish I had more time to explore.

dear Kenya

I am not finished with you yet. I will be back.

Regards
Abongwe

When I say modelling you might be thinking Americas Next Top Model or tall models who make the rest of us wanna stop eating. Well lets calm down I am talking about Car Modelling.

I would like to introduce you to 12Twentyfour ( Specialist in model car) a blog by a Cape Town dude who is pretty talented. One of those labour of love type blogs.

 http://1224blog.wordpress.com/2013/09/05/garage-heart/

The About Me part of the blog starts off with :
"Gosh this is tough, Hey Raees, this was not part of the deal… it’s about the models not me lol . Oh well." and comes to "So that’s me briefly… Cars/Cars/Cars/Rc Cars/1:24 Cars/Drawing Cars and more Cars. no guys I am not a mechaphile, you sound like my GF. I would only sleep in the garage with my car but that’s not that bad, right?!"

To me its a breath of fresh air, a new kid on the blogging stage and a display of talent. So check the blog out ladies or get you bfs on it, they would love you for it ;)...

Lets Vamos...- Traveling diaries

They say travel and your eyes will be open. This has been proven to me. I recently went to Brazil for a exchange programme.

We were a bunch of 31 dynamic young people with a passion for youth issues and a great interest in learning about such issues in countries not our own. I arrived in Brazil 30 July and felt at home on the onset. I was welcomed by warm smiles and hugs from people I had never meat before but they had a mission and it was to make me feel at home and like one of the crew. In no time we were like family. We may not have all spoken the same language but that never really stopped us from being more than strangers but to be family. We had a great patient translators and learned the art of sign language very fast, if the word did not come to mind the best obsession was to use your body. We also managed new phrases like “ Lets vamos” to “ Thank You forever”. I am sure those who watched us as we interacted in airports to buses and subways thought we had all lost our minds or just ate way too much “ crazy meet” .

Then the was the dancing. Never had I danced so much in my life. From dances at the FICA festival to the dances in the streets. I learned some samba and what not. But most importantly I learned to let go and just fun fun.

Threw our interactions, informations session, workshops and general communication I learned a lot about the world around me. I learned that the youth of the world are going threw the same levels just on different levels. These problems may be big but, the youth are starting to take a stand. We are living in tough times as youth but we are also living in exciting times. We are on the brink of something amazing.

This experience has been one I wont forget. The people and the hugs and kisses and just general love has blown me away. For this I am very thankful. I feel richer in my heart. I have grown as person in a lot of ways. For this I am thankful to Sandra, Heidi, Barbara,Ronan , Eva, Julio Livia ,Maria, Silia,Marcelo Didi,Fabiola , Fransiska, Paula,Francisco ,Theresa, Elder, María Elena,Sr. Caroline ,Pallavi, Sagar, Edgar ,Selina , Marlies,Hélia , Thereisia,Deyse ,Thays ,Camila ,José the families that opened their homes to us and the other that made my stay amazing I would like to say Obrigado, Obrigada,  Gracias, Danke and in a language we all understand ; Thank You forever.

                                        Thank You forever..

I visited the city centre - travel diaries

The fam and I took the subway to the city  centre in São Paulo. This city is a beast. What did I expect from the biggest city in Brazil. We walked around took pictures and I fussed over graffiti again. Some things never change.
I have become obsessed with doorways ever since I got here.
Some of the views around town. Larger then life type things.
The graffiti I saw around the city I was in love with. The one at the bottom is by far my favorite one so far.
Day well spent
